Be Certain Be Certified

What is involved in a 3rd Party Audit Certification
Consistency
The manufacturer has to show traceability on all the materials that are used in the manufacture and make up of the fire doors in Question the doors must be made from the same material from same suppliers as was tested day 1, All hardware and other elements must be only what there is test evidence for, A fire Hinge that has not been tested with the door leaf is not Certified only goods tested are covered by the Certification or FOA
Manufacturing
The process is audited to ensure no deviation in manufacturing is allowed and full calibration on all machinery ISO9001 management certification is adhered too at all times to ensure the products supplied are the same as what has been Certified. Should there be any inconsistency’s in the audit the sponsor will lose accreditation of either scheme and this will be published on website register.
Traceability
The person assembling or fitting the door must check that the certification supplied has test evidence for all elements, used in the door set, just because it may be listed it must have actual Fire test Evidence for the fire test conducted showing date test was conducted and by whom showing the results for Integrity and Insulation. Without out this evidence then you are not permitted to use these elements.
TECHNICAL INFORMATION
Fire Doors are designed to save lives and their certification has to be taken very seriously, they are used in Public buildings like schools hospitals, Hotels and with the demand for housing they are extensively being used in Apartments and 3 story housing, Deanta is leading the market and setting standards in Fire Door safety with the most comprehensive testing and test evidence on the Irish market today

About EN 1634.1
Unlike BS standard EN is more difficult to pass and requires comprehensive testing covering all elements, unless its been tested it cannot be certified. With a far greater heat in testing and higher air pressure making the EN Standard a welcome standard. However many companies still claim elements with fire testing can be used with EN doors, this is totally untrue it requires successful testing to be in compliance.
Acoustics
All our fire doors are Acoustically tested and hold certification for up to 31dB,working closely with LORIENT acoustic systems to achieve the standard test evidence available upon request. We take our certification very seriously and DEANTA are the only company who Designs Manufactures and Certifies their own goods not relying on others to supply them with potentially substandard certified Fire Doors.
Installation
As a business we only deal with leading suppliers and door specialist who have many years in the Door Industry, Our technical documentation contains the complete fitting parameters and to ensure the correct presentation of fire doors following the test evidence and ensuring the doors are presented the same way as they have been tested .
Hardware / Locks & Hinges
EN1634.1 can only be achieved once the hardware has been tested, fire rated hardware is not compliant unless it has been tested, all test evidence for the hardware we cover is listed in our FOA, Classification reports and EXAPS where we list test number and dates along with results .Unless the test evidence is listed then listed hardware is not acceptable. All CERTIFIRE hardware is covered under our certification as being part of the 3rd party scheme. Each lock or hinge has to be tested so if you list 5 locks you must have 5 tests, one test will not cover, BS standard allowed you to test the most onerous and gave you coverage for smaller hardware EN Standard does not allow this and requires test evidence Hence the withdrawal of BS Standard in 2028
Hinges
Appropriate hinges are CE Marked hinges that have been tested on the doors, 3 hinges per door and DEANTA does not require Intumescent pads for doors under 2.4m, Doors over 2.4m require 4 hinges and Pads, The confidence in the doors we supply has allowed not to place pads in hinges and locks and we have tested successfully in all of our tests with no Pads.
